About Steve
Steve Grant is a retired IT professional living in the county of Berkshire in the UK with varying numbers of children, grandchildren and dogs. He is married to an extraordinary, if shrinking, woman and is blessed in too many ways to count. They share a keen interest in all things Italian, having visited the country frequently and having spent countless hoildays in the town of Castelsardo in Sardinia.
He stumbled into writing as a result of trying to learn Italian and needing to write short articles in Italian to allow native speakers to provide corrections to grammar etc. He started writing accounts of his life and work. Readers found the articles both funny and interesting. After several had suggested he start writing for real, he decided to give it a go.
His preferred genre for reading is crime, particularly the work of Ian Rankin, Donna Leon, Peter Robinson, Andrea Camileri, and Federico Maria Rivalta.
These days he walks dogs, writes novels and teaches English.
It has been said of Steve, much like William, that he likes people in theory.
