Imelda is the most powerful dark witch in the realm of Anglonia. She is also the cruellest and most pitiless, unafraid to hurt those around her while expecting complete loyalty from them. Alas for her eldest son, Feydor, she focuses all her vicarious lust for power through him and his role as jester to the King. She has an unbounded sexual appetite, and dresses in a mode she calls Witch Provocateur, a style resembles gothic vamp with lots of piercings, tattoos and black underwear. Feydor can’t bear to be near her, and discovers something early in False Tidings that leaves him determined to kill her and be free. Imelda lives above a tavern in the east end of Ludnam, and doesn’t feel the cold, leaving all the shutters open during the winter. Like all the best baddies, she can’t see that she could simply take control of the kingdom without going to the bother of having Feydor influence the King.
